Shake and Take

Starting with a new company or a new routine always scares and excites me at the same time. Excited because obviously it’s something new and I look forward to the new role and its challenges; scared because I’m afraid that my routine – diet, exercise, me-time etc would be messed up.

Am thankful that am with a very understanding, employee-oriented team that emphasises on time management as well as supportive of personal growth and goals.

Enough about that. Down to the reason why I am blogging this post.

Food around the non-CBD areas can prove to be a little difficult or challenging, as I am not the keenest person to indulge in dishes like Chicken Rice, Char Kuay Teow, Duck Noodles, Nasi Lemak, Nasi Padang, economy rice and others found here and the first 2-3 weeks was really quite painful. I survived mainly on steamed chicken breasts, sliced fish soup with a lot of chili padi and vegetables…

Have been following DL on Twitter and Instagram for some time, and we even recently met up for coffee and before that, the Katong Food Trail . Food, fitness & health quickly bonded us, and then I saw something amazing on her social media accounts – the Shake ‘n Take, and not long after, I OWNED A SET! (and got that for my sister and husband too!)


The fantastic thing about this handy contraption is that it is so, so mobile, there’s no excuses at all that you cannot drink or consume healthy at all. I’ve blended mainly fruit so far and have not gone on to vegetables yet. I will not be putting oats, flakes or anything that sticks or is oily at this time, as the blade is not removable for washing. So far I’ve only tried with mangoes, dragon fruit, bananas, pears, apples, watermelon, grapes… and it works like a dream.

Of course, eating the colours of the rainbow is very exciting. Have tried a few blends and they are amazing… See below!

  1. Me having the same problem like you but I am moving to an even sub-urban area in the EAST .. Changi East that is would need a new whole diet regime. I bought this to supplement my Breakfast as well as my lunch as I heard the crowd is a killer.

      ok that’s great!! do post up pics of all the healthy concoctions! i dont recommend blending things like peanut butter/ oily stuff/ things that harden when dried up like oats.. stick to veg + fruits!
